The Sacrifices of War

((OOC: Another in-between chapter and untold story in The Price of War by @sirussly. The previous story The Worries of War.))

An evening in Godric’s Hollow, Lily has had enough of only seeing the inside of their house. She grabbed her wand and a sweater in the intent to step outside for 5 minutes and see the sky for once.

She shouted back into the house at her husband and his best friend who were, of course, worrying about her leaving the house and the baby in their hands.

Remus sits down on the stairs leading up to the house. Dimly lit by the single street light.

Silence spread between them and the only sound for a while is Remus’ soft crying.

Lily: “I’ve been keeping an eye on him when he thinks we’re not looking- “

Lily: “I mean you look like-…”

Lily: “But…”

He leaves and disappears in the shadows down the street.
