(Here it is! my late addition to @sirussly‘s script swap! I’m so glad I got it out quicker than I expected. This was written but the LOVELY and TALENTED and CREATIVE @blackdogpadfoots and I’m so excited I got to bring this to life for them.)
Arthur Weasley wakes early the morning of February 6th- It’s his birthday. He scrambles down stairs to the kitchen where a large breakfast- and larger family- is awaiting him.
His eyes fall on a small package wrapped in paper beside his meal. There’s a note:
To: Mr Weasely From: Harry. I trust you’ll discover the function soon enough.
Molly: A duck? How very… thoughtful of him. Eat your eggs dear, they’ll get cold.
He shovelled his breakfast into his mouth- excitedly examining the duck from every angle possible.
Arthur rushed to his shed and furiously writes down a list of ‘What to do with a Rubber Duck’.
He scribbles every possible idea that comes to him. Ready to test each theory. At first he thought the answer was clear.
He was wrong.
He tried wearing it.
Molly: Really Arthur you look ridiculous.
Results were unsatisfying…
He tried to be direct about it.
No Luck.
A long shot.
He stayed up as long as he could watching, waiting.
If anything it was a little unnerving.
Feeling defeated, and a little embarrassed Arthur started to get frustrated with the duck.
