Sirius’ mother’s words echoed in his head. It has been a few days since the news of Regulus’ death had reached Sirius, but he could not silence the incessant ringing of his mother’s stern voice though he tried. He could hardly sleep. He couldn’t eat. He’d been lying awake in bed for hours; unable to blink away the image of his younger brother’s cold, but kind eyes as he held tightly onto the ragged teddy bear that had once belonged to Regulus.
“Take him, Reg. He’ll keep you safe”
Sirius held tighter onto the stuffed toy he had offered Regulus as a young boy.
“I will always be there to protect you. But when you are scared and alone, hold him. He’ll keep you safe.”
James: *knocks softly on the door and peers around the corner.*
James: *sees Sirius is still in bed. It has been days. He sighs and tries to adopt a pleasant demeanor*
James: Didn’t you get the message from Dumbledore? He needs us to go out to the Vance’s.
*sigh* Besides, its 5:00 at night and we’ve got shit to do.
James: Sirius, get up. It’s been days.
James: *finally notices the bear in Sirius’ arms*
James: Usually you’ve just got your werewolf keeping you company.
James: So it IS yours then? *giggles* How’d you keep that secret so long? C’mon mate, don’t you think you’re a bit old for soft toys?
